This day can be imagined from two sides.

The Disciples. Jesus is dead and His body lies in a tomb. They grieve and wrestle with their thoughts and emotions.

Jesus. Is absent from His body but active. Yes active.

1 Peter 3:18-22 Tells us He was still preaching. This time to the rebels in prison who tried to take over the Earth before the flood. He let them know that they had lost and He had won.

Ephesians 4:8 says He lead those who were waiting for salvation out of their holding place to their new home. See Luke 16:19-31 about the holding place of the dead until Jesus set them free.
