About Cornerstone

Who we are

Cornerstone Church is a non-denominational Church in Trafalgar Indiana.

What does non-denominational mean?

It means that we don’t belong to any religious denomination. We don’t answer to a national board in some other state who have never been here.

Denominations do help though. Labels let you know what you are getting so what are you getting at Cornerstone?

We are a Bible based Church. By Bible we mean the whole Bible, old and new testaments. The only useless page in the Bible is the one that separates the old testament from the new. It is one book, one Author with one theme- Jesus.

Gospel

Gospel means “Good News”.

Jesus Christ is only way anyone can be saved.

He bore our sin on the cross, taking God’s wrath for us.

The Bible says we need to repent of our sins and trust Jesus Christ to save us.

The ten commandments show us that we are sinners and need someone to save us.

Jesus Christ is our Savior, our Redeemer and so much more.

He offers salvation to anyone who asks for it. Anyone! Thats good news. Thats the gospel.

Preaching

Here is what to expect preaching stlye wise at Cornerstone. We do expository preaching.

Expository means we go through one book of the Bible reading and every verse.

Sunday Morning Service

Sunday morning service is our formal service. We go through one book at a time, verse by verse, word for word. We don’t care what the Preacher has to say we want to know what God has to say. The Pastor try’s his best to interpret Gods word with God’s word.

We do Communion every Sunday morning service. We want to remember what price Jesus paid to redeem us from our sins and thank Him for it.

Sunday Night Service

(YES WE ARE AN OLD SCHOOL CHURCH WHO MEETS SUNDAY MORNING AND SUNDAY NIGHT!)

Sunday nights is when we do our Sunday school. We have Men’s, women’s youth group and a young peoples class at this time.

Wednesday Night Service

( I KNOW! WE MEET THREE TIMES A WEEK!!!)

We typically go through another book of the Bible in a more laid back setting where questions and comments are encouraged.

We also might interrupt the book study for a topic that is pressing in the news and needs addressed to see what the Bible says concerning what is going on.

Music

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.  Colossians 3:16

We sing hymns, choruses, praise songs and use our talents to praise him.

Our music is different as in we do our worship at the end of the service and not at the beginning. We want to go through the washing of the word and time to reflect and worship Christ in communion to prepare us to worship God unhindered.

Dress Code

Modesty. We trust your discernment.

Giving

We give freely. Meaning we do not take up an offering but we have a designated place for you to give privately. It is an an act of worship between you and God.
