This is the day that Jesus died as a substitution sacrifice for you and me and for any who repent and trust in Him.

It is hard to think about His physical suffering. To know that men could be so cruel, but the physical suffering was only a part of it. The largest part was the spiritual suffering He went through on our behalf.

Jesus suffered all that I should have suffered for eternity in Hell. The wrath of God that should have been upon me, Jesus satisfied that suffering too.

While I grow in appreciation each year for what He did I don’t think eternity will be enough time to even begin to grasp a portion of it. Thank you Jesus for what I can grasp.
